Even airport convenience store employee shocked at price of water bottle

ATLANTA, GA — Employees at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport were stunned when they saw the latest prices for water bottles at a convenience store in Terminal C.

Shonda Jackson has worked as an airport employee for 17 years and, in her words, “I’ve seen some shit.” But, even the 38-year-old Jackson was shocked when she saw the latest prices for water bottles sold at the convenience store she works at in Terminal C.

According to Jackson, and several other witnesses, a single bottle of Poland Spring water is selling for $19.

“I was damn, these guys aren’t playing around,” Jackson observed, “I guess inflation is hitting everyone!”

Business traveler and 41-year-old father of two Bradley Jackson (no relation) who was passing through the airport at the time, caught up with our reporting staff where he too expressed outrage at the prices. “I might have to start drinking water from a drinking fountain at these prices. It’s insanity,” he said.

The price of a water bottle wasn’t the only thing that went up according to Shonda, who noted that she’s seen huge prices on candy bars, beef jerky, Combos, and gum. The only items seeing a price reduction were magazines, reminding us all how little anyone reads them anymore.
