Travel blogger community decides we have enough travel bloggers, closes door for new bloggers

MALDIVES — Today marked a turning point in the travel community as travel bloggers around the world joined forces to close the door to new travel bloggers.

After the doomsday clock marked the 15,000,000 travel blogger, the doors slammed shut on new entrants to the busy industry. From influencers, to begpackers, to digital nomads, business travelers, credit card hockers, vanlife homies, miles enthusiasts, wanderlusters, and everything in between the maximum capacity has been reached.

According to the international association of travel bloggers, there simply isn’t any more room left. “We are closing the doors to all future travel bloggers,” said Shania McSwilling, co-chair of the points and miles committee who was staying in an overwater villa in the Maldives. “We encourage prospective bloggers to consider other niches like mommy blogs, or homeschooling blogs, woodworking, crafts blogs, and so on.”

“Yeah, we are good,” said one blogger who’s been slinging words for 30 years. The anonymous blogger joined us from an internet cafe in Thailand where he was living in a nearby hostel. “There are so damn many of them it’s getting hard to get sponsors and drive traffic to our platforms. They should leave us alone and go write about drones or school supplies or something. This is our world and we don’t want anyone else intruding on it.”
